Russia’s Foreign and Defense Ministries have warned about the dangers of embassies operating in Kyiv, and the decision now rests with the countries themselves, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
He made the remarks in response to a question about whether European diplomats had deliberately ignored warnings regarding the safety of their presence in Kyiv and whether they bore responsibility for the potential risks.
“Of course, this is true. The special military operation continues, and indeed, our Foreign Ministry and Defense Ministry have repeatedly issued the relevant warnings. The decision is up to the countries that have diplomatic missions in Kyiv. Our military continues its work,” the Kremlin spokesperson stressed.
It should be noted that on Saturday, the Russian Foreign Ministry again advised foreign citizens and diplomats to leave Kyiv. It stated that the Russian Armed Forces would continue to carry out massive retaliatory strikes on Kyiv and that the Russian Foreign Ministry was warning foreign citizens, including diplomatic mission staff, not to remain in Ukraine or travel to its territory.
