Türekiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan commented on the boycott calls, APA reports.
After the Friday prayers, President Erdoğan told journalists that the boycott calls on April 2nd were ineffective.
According to him, on the contrary, shopping malls became busier.
"Therefore, my nation does not forgive those who campaign against this country," Erdoğan added.
Note that the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the public boycott calls. In a statement from the Turkish Prosecutor General's Office, it was mentioned that an investigation has been initiated regarding those who made boycott calls aimed at preventing part of the public from engaging in economic activities, as well as those who spread these calls. The investigation is being conducted under charges of "hate and discrimination" and "inciting the public to hate and hostility."
The statement also mentioned that after the calls, investigations into complaints about physical and verbal violence at some workplaces have been combined with this investigation.
Recall that after the arrest of Istanbul's Mayor Ekrem Imamoğlu, during protests, the leader of the Republican People's Party (CHP), Ozgur Ozel, called on his supporters to avoid using certain brands and restaurants.
