Two Lebanese Red Cross paramedics were injured and an ambulance was damaged when a land mine exploded Tuesday in southern Lebanon, APA reports citing CNN.
The first responders had coordinated with authorities to ensure safe access to the eastern Zawtar area and were helping to look for a missing person when the explosion occurred.
The Lebanese Red Cross said it is coordinating with Lebanon’s army and other authorities to secure the area, which has been seeded with mines and unexploded “remnants of war,” to ensure the paramedics can safely be reached and evacuated from the area.
