Veteran Turkish actor Necdet Kökeş, known for his role as “Zıpzıp” in the “Battal Gazi” films during the Yeşilçam era, has passed away, APA reports, citing Sözcü newspaper.
The actor had recently undergone a tracheostomy operation to improve his breathing due to lung problems. He died today at the age of 82.
Necdet Kökeş was born in Adana in 1944. He began his film career with the 1970 movie “Bütün Aşklar Tatlı Başlar.”
Throughout his career, the veteran actor appeared in around 100 films and became especially well known for portraying “Zıpzıp” in the “Battal Gazi” movies starring alongside Cüneyt Arkın.
He also acted in films such as “Deli Domrul,” “Şaban Askerde,” “Hakanlar Çarpışıyor,” “Leblebi Tozu,” and “Avrupalı.”
