New rock carvings have been discovered in the Kichikdash mountain area of the Gobustan National Historical-Artistic Reserve (NHAR), the State Service for the Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture told APA.
The images include a hunting scene, a female figure, and numerous parallel lines whose meaning has not yet been fully determined. The depiction of the woman is stylistically similar to other female figures in the Gobustan collection. The hunting scene stands out for its dynamism and realism.
Another image of particular interest consists of multiple adjacent lines. At first glance, this motif resembles Gobustan’s well-known boat scenes, but differs due to the absence of a boat and the density of the lines.
Work is currently ongoing on documenting the images and creating their 3D models.
