World-renowned American director Frederick Wiseman has passed away at the age of 96, APA reports citing, The Guardian.
News of the director’s death was announced in a joint statement by his family and his production company, Zipporah Films.
Best known as a documentary filmmaker, Wiseman was a three-time winner of the Prime-Time Emmy Award. In 2014, he was honored with the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the 71st Venice International Film Festival.
