Azerbaijani play "Shukriyya" to be screened in Tbilisi

On October 14, the play "Shukriyya" will be performed at the Shota Rustaveli National Theater of Georgia, APA's local bureau reports, citing the theater.

The performance will take place as part of the tour of the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater to Georgia. The visit will be organized within the framework of the memorandum of mutual cooperation signed in Tbilisi in February this year between the national theaters of the two countries.

It should be noted that the play "Shukriyya" is based on the play of the same name by writer Javid Zeynalli. The premiere of the stage work was in 2023.

Directed by Honored Art Worker Bahram Osmanov, the two-part drama portrays the exile life of Shukriyya Akhundzadeh—wife of Azerbaijan’s national independence poet Ahmad Javad—in Kazakhstan.
