Azerbaijani and Israeli filmmakers presented joint film in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem

A presentation ceremony for the film “Tradition Coming from Centuries” was held at Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Israel, APA reports.

The documentary film, directed by Rufat Asadov and produced by Shaul Siman, is a joint production of Azerbaijani and Israeli filmmakers.

At the presentation ceremony, organized jointly by the Azerbaijani Embassy and the “Sholumi” Cultural Center, Ambassador Mukhtar Mammadov delivered remarks, expressing satisfaction that the relations between the peoples of Israel and Azerbaijan, based on centuries-old friendship and mutual respect, have in recent years risen to the level of a strategic partnership.

He expressed confidence that Rufat Asadov’s film will make a significant contribution to relations between the two peoples and countries.

Rufat Asadov noted that Azerbaijan has been a place where Eastern and Western cultures and various civilizations have met for centuries, where examples of multiculturalism and tolerance have been lived, and that the film reflects these examples.

The next presentation of the film was held in the city of Jerusalem, organized by the Azerbaijan-Israel International Association and the “Sholumi” Cultural Center. Representatives of various communities of Jerusalem attended the event.

It should be noted that the film is about the work of carpet artist, collector, and researcher of the cultural heritage of Mountain Jews, Albert Rafiyev. Originally from the Red Settlement of the Guba district, the film’s protagonist combines the cultures of the Azerbaijani and Jewish peoples in his creative work. In his works, Azerbaijan is portrayed as a country where different peoples and religions have historically lived in peace, and where traditions of multiculturalism and tolerance are upheld at a high level.

The film has already received invitations from several countries — the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Russia, and others.
