US President Donald Trump is considering a limited strike against Iran to encourage Tehran to accept favorable terms in the nuclear deal for Washington while avoiding a full-scale attack, APA reports citing The Wall Street Journal.
According to their information, such a strike could be carried out within a few days. It could target Iranian military and government facilities. If Tehran then refuses to comply with Washington's demands to cease uranium enrichment, the US will launch a large-scale military campaign, potentially aiming to overthrow the Islamic Republic's government, the publication claims.
The American leader has not yet made a final decision regarding an attack on Iran, the newspaper notes. White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly told The Wall Street Journal that "only President Trump knows what he can or cannot do."
