United States President Donald Trump said on Friday that he does not want a ceasefire deal with Iran because he doesn't think it is needed since the US is "obliterating" the Middle Eastern country, APA reports.
Trump told reporters outside the White House that Iran has lost the war from a military perspective, but is only "clogging" the Strait of Hormuz now. He claimed that the strait will "open itself" at a "certain point," but reiterated that it "would be nice" if countries such as China and Japan, which get most of their oil through the passage, would get involved. The US president stated that opening the strait would be a "simple military maneuver," but that would include the use of many ships, so help from other countries would be needed.
