The United States intends to disarm the Palestinian movement Hamas if it refuses to do so voluntarily, said US President Donald Trump during a meeting with his Argentine counterpart, Javier Miley, at the White House, APA reports.
"They'll disarm because they said they were going to disarm. And if they don't disarm, we'll disarm them," the American leader said, commenting on the prospects of a ceasefire with Hamas. Trump declined to specify how exactly the movement would be disarmed. "I don't have to explain it to you. They know we don't play games," the head of the US administration noted.
According to him, Washington expects Hamas to disarm within a "moderate period of time." If the movement refuses to do so voluntarily, it will be disarmed, "possibly by force," Trump emphasized.
