Director Rufat Asadov's documentary "A Mother's Prayer" has been screened at the Moscow Jewish Community, APA reports.

The film was received with interest by the audience at the screening held in the Amphitheater Hall of the Moscow Jewish Community Center, organized by the "Good Evening" club, led by journalist Yana Lyubarskaya.

The documentary, produced jointly with Israel's "Sholumi" Center, tells the story of Rabbi Shmuel Simantov, who was born in the city of Oghuz, Azerbaijan. The life story of Shmuel Simantov, the founder and head of the "Or Ovadia" synagogue of Mountain Jews in Tel Aviv, is presented in the film against the backdrop of the devotion of his mother, Batya.

The mother's sacrifice of donating all the money she had saved over many years to fulfill her son's dream of building a synagogue finds a touching cinematic expression, reflecting the greatness of maternal love, the strength of spiritual bonds, and the profound significance of religious faith in human life.

The film's producer is Shaul Siman-Tov, head of the "Sholumi" Center.

Speaking after the screening, director Rufat Asadov talked about the traditions of multiculturalism that have developed in Azerbaijan over centuries and the respect shown to representatives of different peoples and religious communities. He emphasized that the peaceful coexistence of different religions and cultures in Azerbaijan, as well as respect for the cultural heritage of the Jewish people, is an important component of the country's multicultural values.

Note that the film "A Mother's Prayer" has previously been screened in Azerbaijan, Israel, Germany, and Russia.
