Travel opportunities from Heydar Aliyev International Airport to Europe have expanded with another destination. On October 28, Wizz Air, one of Europe's leading low-cost airlines, operated its first direct flight from Bratislava to Baku, the airport told APA-Economics.

According to the airport, the new route offers a new alternative to Central Europe for passengers who prefer low-cost travel and adds Bratislava to the list of European capitals accessible by direct flights from Baku.

Located on the banks of the Danube River, Bratislava is an attractive destination for short European trips, with its compact historic center, Bratislava Castle, gastronomy, and relaxed urban atmosphere. The airport's location just 9 km from the city center makes travel more convenient.

Bratislava's geographical location in Central Europe provides an additional advantage to the route. The Slovak capital is located approximately 65 km from Vienna and is also a convenient starting point for planning trips to other cities in the region.

Flights on the Baku–Bratislava route will operate twice a week during the winter season, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The duration of a direct flight from Baku to Bratislava is approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes.

The new destination is a continuation of Heydar Aliyev International Airport's efforts to expand direct flight opportunities for passengers, offer different travel and fare options, and strengthen Baku's air connections with European cities.

Detailed information about flight schedules, airline tickets, baggage regulations, and other services is available through Wizz Air's official sales channels.
