The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has raised its forecasts for the current account surplus for 2026 and 2027, APA-Economics reports.
This was stated in the CBA's announcement on the parameters of the interest rate corridor.
According to the updated forecasts, the current account surplus is expected to reach $8.5 billion in 2026 and $5.4 billion in 2027. This corresponds to more than 10% and 6% of GDP, respectively.
The upward revision of the forecasts was attributed to high prices for major export products, as well as the continuation of positive trends in exports of non-oil and gas goods and services.
It should be noted that, according to data from the State Customs Committee, Azerbaijan recorded a positive foreign trade balance of $10.5 billion in January–September this year.
