The US state of Tennessee is scheduled to execute 50-year-old Christa Pike by lethal injection on September 30, APA reports.
If the sentence is carried out, Pike will become the first woman executed in the state in more than 200 years.
The execution is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. local time at a maximum-security prison in Nashville.
Pike was 18 years old when she committed the crime in 1995. She was convicted and sentenced to death for the murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer. According to court records, other individuals were also involved in the crime.
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has declined Pike’s request for clemency.
