The Peruvian Parliament approved a vote of no confidence in President José Jeri, seeking to remove him from office. The session was broadcast on the Congress's YouTube channel, APA reports.
"The motions to pass a vote of no confidence in the President of Congress, Acting President of the Republic, José Jeri, were approved," Acting Speaker of Parliament Fernando Rospigliosi read out the decision following the vote.
Heri became Peru's eighth president in the last 10 years. The next presidential election is scheduled for April 12.
