The World Bank has updated its forecast for wheat prices for 2026–2027, APA-Economics reports, citing the bank’s latest report on commodity markets.
The price of wheat is expected to stand at $253 per ton in 2026, which is $5 lower compared to the forecast issued in October last year.
According to the World Bank’s projections, the price of wheat will reach $260 per ton in 2027, which is $7 lower than the October forecast.
Based on the bank’s estimates, wheat prices will increase by 4% year-on-year in 2026 and by 2.8% in 2027.
The report notes that the price of wheat stood at $243 per ton in 2025.
