The two officials stressed both countries' concerns commitment to "upholding safe transit in the Strait of Hormuz and ensuring Iran never develops or obtains a nuclear weapon."
Rubio and Wadephul also addressed the upcoming NATO summit in Turkey and reaffirmed the need for "burden shifting." Finally, they agreed on the importance of reaching a lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine, according to the statement.
