One killed, four wounded in clash between police and demonstrators in DR Congo

Baku-APA. One person was killed and four others injured in the clash between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) police and the protesters in the capital city Kinshasa on Thursday, APA reports .

The demonstration was organized by the opposition Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS).

"Police fired at a close range with live ammunition, killing one member of the UDPS and wounding others. We would not give up unless the CENI (the country’s National Independent Electoral Commission) meet our requirements," said Shabani M Jaquemain, the general secretary of the UDPS.

Lisanga Bonganga, the coordinator of the opposition, said that the UDPS and its allies require the installation of the Constitutional Court "because of the bias displayed by the Supreme Court against the UDPS".
