Baku. Ali Ahmedov – APA-Economics. Alternative energy tariffs in Azerbaijan will be changed depending on territories of the country and production sources, said the Director of State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources Akim Badalov. According to him, Azerbaijan researched this sphere and does not want to repeat the mistakes of other, including European countries.

He says in former times, the European countries have determined high tariffs for alternative energy to stimulate the development of this sphere (the government buys the energy from alternative energy producers in this tariff), thereafter, these tariffs changed to traditional energy price by decreasing gradually.

Badalov noted that alternative energy tariffs would not be single in Azerbaijan. These tariffs will be differed depending on location and source of energy. For this purpose, alternative energy fields and their effectiveness index will be determined: “Solar and wind cadastres must be constructed on Azerbaijan and lower-upper limits of tariffs in different areas must be defined”.

The researches on price of alternative energy from different sources are conducted in energy polygon established in Gobustan. The observations indicate that the cost value of energy from alternative sources is changed in the range of 4-11 kopecks. But Badalov says these indicators are not sufficient to define the alternative energy tariffs. The tariff policy will be established at the end of 2013 and at the begging of 2014.
