“Effective oversight mechanisms are envisaged in Azerbaijan's draft law on social media," Aytan Mammadova, Head of Department at the Ministry of Justice, said during a public discussion of a draft law proposing amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, the Law "On Information, Informatization and Protection of Information," and the Law "On Protection of Children from Harmful Information," organized by the Media Development Agency, APA reports.
According to her, the draft includes particularly effective regulation and oversight mechanisms:
“Through these tools, parents will be able to manage the time their children spend on social media. At the same time, the content and advertisements displayed to them will also be regulated through parental control. This approach serves to prevent damage to children's psychological and physiological development at an early stage and to ensure their adaptation to the real social and cultural environment.”
