"The draft law under discussion covers approximately 1.5 million children in preschool and general education institutions," Deputy Director of the State Agency for Preschool and General Education Vafa Yagublu said during a public discussion of a draft law proposing amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, the Law "On Information, Informatization and Protection of Information," and the Law "On Protection of Children from Harmful Information, APA reports.

She noted that nearly 300,000 children aged up to 2–3 years are also part of this system under preschool education.

According to her, the proposed draft is generally assessed positively: "Because the issue of restrictions on social media is not envisaged here as the main area of regulation. At the same time, schools have been integrated into digital education platforms since this year. Groups and social platforms related to the educational process are not a direct component of this draft."

Vafa Yagublu also stated that amendments related to student behavior rules have been approved for the new academic year.

"From this year, bringing and using mobile phones in schools has been prohibited. The implementation of control mechanisms in this regard has also begun," she emphasized.
