If we distance children from electronic formats, we will not be able to move forward as a society, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev said at the presentation ceremony of the research report titled “Legal Awareness of Adolescents in Azerbaijan” and the book “Children and Law”, APA reports.

“Today, 50% of children obtain information through social media, and this is considered more risky. As a state, we must regulate this. It is an unavoidable reality that if a child has to choose between a textbook and attractive video content, they will watch the video content. In the coming years, children will have more opportunities for electronic learning than the previous generation, and we cannot limit this,” the minister said.

Emin Amrullayev noted that the number of alternative learning sources is increasing.

“The main issue is the proper regulation of these alternative sources and ensuring their integration into the school system. Research shows that children who grow up listening to fairy tales are more successful in school lessons and mathematics. Unfortunately, today parents do not have time to tell fairy tales to their children, play with them, or devote time to them,” he added.
