Youth Foundation Supervisory Council holds 12th meeting - <span style="color: red;">PHOTOSESSION

Opening the meeting, chairman of the Supervisory Council, deputy head of the Socio-Political Affairs Department at the Presidential Administration Tahir Suleymanov informed about the meeting’s agenda.

It was told that the report on the Foundation’s activities in 2014, the approval of the criteria for the assessment of projects implemented by the Youth Foundation under the Azerbaijani President and other issues will be discussed during the meeting.

After the approval of the agenda, Executive Director of the Foundation Farhad Hajiyev spoke about the works done in 2014, noting that in 2014 two grant competitions were organized for youth organizations and individuals aged 16-29, and a total of 844 projects were financed.

AZN 4,667,700 has been allocated to finance these projects. The majority of those financed have to do with upbringing teens and youths in patriotic spirits, increasing their social activity, protection of the environment, promotion of healthy lifestyle, providing support to those in need of special care, public support to the propaganda campaign for the Baku-2015 First European Games, informing the international community about the realities of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict of Nagorno-Karabakh, developing Azerbaijani youth organizations’ cooperation with the international youth platform, encouraging youths toward scientific activity, organizing art competitions and exhibitions, supporting discoveries and innovative ideas of talented youths. Interest in the foundation’s activities has grown throughout the year, with an increase in the number of applicants.

Members of the Supervisory Council voiced their ideas and proposals about the results of the foundation’s activities in 2014, making a decision on giving a positive feedback for the document. The report was recommended to be improved and submitted to the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the meeting, the issue of improving the criteria of evaluating projects presented to grant competitions was put up for discussion. A new document—“Evaluation criteria for projects included in the Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan”—prepared by a relevant working group was approved.
