Traffic restricted in some streets and avenues of Azerbaijan’s capital from today

Chief of public relations department of Baku City State Traffic Police Office Vagif Asadov told APA that due to the start of GT3 racing in Sabail district of the capital from November 21 to 24, traffic will be restricted and the direction of traffic movement will be changed in Mikayil Useynov, Gurban Abbasov, Agil Guliyev, Aydin Nasirov, Ahmed Yagubov, Alibeyov Gardashlari, Aydin Mammadov and Ali Nazmi streets.


More than 30 cars in 13 teams from France, Italy, Spain, and Germany will take part in GT3 racing. The cars will take a few laps on a determined 8-km route. The international competition will be broadcasted by over 165 TV channels from around the world for three billion audiences.


Show of 13 "Formula 1" cars will also take place within the event. The cars will start the race from the State Flag Square, pass through the State Fire Fighting Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Sabail district, Useynov and Guliyev Streets, Baku-Salyan Highway in the direction of the Bayil Circle, and come back to the Flag Square.


13 000 spectators who want to watch the race will be carried in special buses from various stations. Additional information on these stations will be provided.


Baku City State Traffic Police Office calls residents of the capital, population, car owners and drivers not to use their personal vehicles, but public transport to avoid traffic jams and accidents taking into account the essence of this grand event.


People can use alternative roads through Yasamal district and Badamdar settlement for entry into the capital from regions.
