An event was held at Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General's Office on November 6 to mark November 8 – Victory Day, which symbolizes the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and the liberation of its ancestral and eternal lands, the Prosecutor General's Office told APA.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the leadership first visited the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Following a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs, the National Anthem was played.

Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev congratulated prosecution employees, veterans and the Azerbaijani people on the occasion of the holiday.

In his speech, the Prosecutor General emphasized that Victory Day symbolizes the national pride of the Azerbaijani people, the strength and sovereignty of the state, and the restoration of historical justice.

The Prosecutor General highlighted that the historic Victory achieved by the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev during the 44-day Patriotic War was a triumph of national solidarity and the will of the people. He also noted that Azerbaijan's state sovereignty was fully restored throughout its territory as a result of the anti-terrorist measures carried out in September 2023.

The Prosecutor General stated that during the Patriotic War, prosecution employees performed their official duties with dignity under difficult conditions, contributing to the enforcement of the law. He also emphasized that, based on evidence collected concerning crimes committed during Armenia's aggression and occupation, several former "leaders" of the so-called regime had been brought to criminal responsibility and sentenced to what he described as appropriate punishments.

Speaking at the event, prosecution veteran Munis Abuzarli discussed the exceptional significance of Victory Day in the history of the Azerbaijani people, the state's determined policies and the heroism of the Azerbaijani Army in achieving the historic Victory. He also emphasized the importance of preserving the traditions of service within the prosecution authorities.

Orkhan Babayev, a participant in the Patriotic War and an investigator at the Nizami District Prosecutor's Office, stated that taking part in the defense of his homeland was a source of great pride for him. He also spoke about the honor and responsibility of serving in the prosecution authorities to protect human rights and freedoms and ensure the rule of law.

At the conclusion of the event, the documentary film "Golden Autumn," produced by Azerbaijan Television and dedicated to the Patriotic War and the glorious Victory, was screened.
