Since February 2025, 16 families have consented to donating their relatives' organs after their deaths, Yegana Abbasova, Chairperson of the Board of the Coordination Center for Organ Donation and Transplantation, said at an educational seminar organized by the Ministry of Health for media representatives as part of "Heart Transplantation Week," APA reports.
She stated that 85 organs have been transplanted from these donors, including four heart transplants.
Yegana Abbasova noted that 1,500 Azerbaijani citizens are currently on the waiting list for organ transplantation.
