American billionaire Elon Musk has reposted a social media post describing the decision to provide Ukraine with access to the Starlink satellite internet system as a mistake, APA reports.
Musk reposted a message from the "Whole Mars Catalog" account on X.
The post stated that SpaceX's decision to provide Ukraine with thousands of Starlink terminals free of charge at the beginning of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, while spending millions of dollars each month on the service, was a mistake.
"A system initially intended to provide internet access to civilians became the foundation for autonomous lethal drones. Now, those who do not support its use for military purposes are criticized in the media," the post stated.
Note that Starlink became available in Ukraine in February 2022, following Russia's full-scale invasion. The service is used for military communications as well as civilian infrastructure needs.
