Baku. Farid Mirzayev - APA. There are over 4,500 registered medicines in the country, and the number of medicines that will be subjected to price regulation is higher than the specified figure due to the difference in the dosage of those medicines, trade packing and their amount in the packages.
In this regard, firstly, 25 vital and most demanded active substances were specified and the price regulation was applied firstly to medicines with those active substances.
The Secretariat of Tariff (price) Council told APA the aforesaid while commenting on some experts’ pretensions that vital and most demanded medicines whose prices were reduced are few in the list of over 250 medicines.
The Secretariat said that more than 600 medicines were registered in the country for those 25 active substances. This means an average of 24 medicines on 1 active substance. “Thus, the demand for the medicines with those substances is much higher.”
On July 30, the regular meeting of the Tariff (Price) Council approved the cost of more than 250 vital and most demanded medicines for 25 active substances.
According to the decision, in order to avoid violations of the competitive environment, the prices of these drugs take effect since September 15, 2015. From this date can not be carried implementation of unapproved drugs for 25 active substances specified in the Council decision. The deadline for submission of documents (declarations) for the approval of the price of other drugs relating to these active substances in Annex, determined before the 10th August 2015.
In comparison with current prices, the prices of 20 percent approved drugs reduced more than 3 times, price of more than 40 percent of medicines reduced more than 2 times, in general, prices of 90 percent approved drugs reduced.
