Baku. Konul Kamilgizi – APA. It is very sad that in Azerbaijan there are some ninth and eleventh graders who have not only mastered the curriculum, but do not even know how to write and read.

SSAC Chairwoman Maleyka Abbaszadeh made remarks during the presentation of the 12th edition of the magazine Abituriyent, APA reports.

The SSAC Chairwoman said there are 2 and 64 such pupils among the 11th and 9th graders accordingly, adding that this statistics is based on the protocols drawn up by examiners.

“However, taken into consideration that such cases are not noted down in most examiners’ protocols, the above-mentioned facts can be regarded as a bad situation. It is unclear how those pupils with such poor knowledge and skills reached the 9th, even the 11th grade. The number of 11th graders who can neither read nor write is 1 each of in Agjabadi and Masalli regions. The number of 9th grade pupils who can neither read nor write is as following: 6 pupils in each of Jalilabad and Yevlakh regions, 5 pupils in each of Agjabadi and Masalli regions, 4 pupils in each of Goygol, Lachin, Sabirabad and Tovuz regions, 2 pupils each of in Bilasuvar, Fuzuli, Gedebey, Goranboy, Goychay, Imishli, Shemkir and Khachmaz regions and 1 each of in Baku, Absheron, Agstafa, Berde, Lankaran, Gazakh, Terter and Zagatala regions”, she completed.
