Mark Khidekel said it is now their second visit to Baku and that the city greatly appealed to them.

“Located between Europe and Asia, Baku looks amazingly beautiful. Baku is rich with monuments of modern architecture. That indicates the country is developing. I think historical buildings and medieval streets herein should be preserved,” said Mark Khidekel.

The architect said he appreciates the stone coverage of the buildings, noting that construction of skyscrapers is now well possible in Baku.

“It may be possible on account of strong will in the first place, then technological and financial capabilities. We can construct very beautiful vertical buildings here. During the meetings, we discussed a number of projects with local architects. For instance, we can construct a nice village around the Flag Square. We can do it as a team,” he noted.

The architect added that he supports the idea of horizontal buildings, saying that it is possible to construct such buildings in Baku and that would make Baku the first ever capital with horizontal buildings. The architect outlined that he is ready to work in Azerbaijan if he is offered to.
