Nardaran residents begin receiving compensation

Compensation is firstly paid to the owners of residential areas and facilities in Absheron street that is under reconstruction, spokesman for the Transport Ministry’s Azeryolservis OJSC Anar Najafli told APA.

To speed up the reconstruction of Absheron street dismantling, design and repair work is being carried out in parallel. According to the initial list, 96 facilities are affected by the road reconstruction. As the demolition and construction work is underway in parallel, the final list will be known later. 21 of the registered facilities are residential houses. The owners of 7 residential houses have already received compensation, and the owners of other four will be granted compensation today. Compensations will be firstly paid for the residential buildings, then for yards, outbuildings and fences.

The Ministry of Finance has been instructed to determine and allocate the amount of compensation depending on real state while Azeryolservis OJSC is to collect the documents of real estate and submit them to the Ministry of Finance.

A bank account is opened for the person owning the residential areas and the funds are transferred to that account. Depending upon the purpose of the real state, compensations vary from AZN 100 to 400 (per square meter). AZN 400 is given for residential homes.

Najafli said that once residents of Absheron Street receive their compensations, owners of homes and facilities lying in the way of the road to be constructed will begin to receive compensations.

Note that, initially the Absheron and Nasrulla Asgarov streets will be reconstructed in Nardaran. The two streets together are 3km in length. One of them will be enlarged to 18m and the other to 14m. Currently, homes and other buildings are being dismantled in the area, and after that the streets will look completely modern. There will be 1.25m-wide pavement at both sides of Absheron Street and 1m-wide pavement at both sides of Nasrulla Asgarov Street. The lighting system and underground communication lines will be replaced with new ones as well.
