Education Ministry’s press service told APA that in accordance with the rules approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, AZN 1400 scholarship was paid to Azerbaijani students studying in UK per month in the last 3 years. “Changes in the euro exchange rate as a result of the recent financial crisis in the European countries, had a negative impact on the financial situation of Azerbaijani students studying in the UK within the framework of the State Program. The Education Ministry and State Oil Fund requested to grant scholarships to Azerbaijani students studying in the UK in pound sterling, instead of euro from 2015/2016 academic year. The Cabinet of Ministers made decision on changing the currency of the scholarship.”
After the changes, £ 1100 scholarship will be paid to the Azerbaijani students studying in the UK: “This means an increase in the amount of the scholarship.”
