Head of the medical care department of the Health Ministry Gulmirza Poladov told the aforesaid at the meeting on outcomes of the year, APA reports. “5,500 thalassaemia carriers, 53 persons with AIDS and 320 with syphilis disease were identified. “During the examination, diseases were detected in 40 couples. They were given medical and genetic counseling and detailed information about further examinations. For the first time, punctuate was taken from a pregnant woman from one of the families with thalassaemia carrier for prenatal diagnosis and sent for examination”, he said.
