In recent years, lots of schools in Azerbaijan have been repaired and new schools have been built, said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
There are more than 300 schools in Baku, the president said in a meeting with teachers and pupils during the opening of the newly constructed building of school-lyceum No 20 in Yasamal district, Baku, APA reported.
“According to the latest information, up to 20 schools need repair. I am sure that next year—or in 2019 at most—all of the schools in Baku will meet the highest standards,” the head of state said. “This year 10 schools have been repaired in Baku. More than 70 schools across the country have been built and repaired. Currently, modular school-type schools are being built in the country. Hundred of them are expected to be put into operation this year and next year.”
The problem of dilapidated schools should be solved in a few years, added President Aliyev.
