Dates of solar and lunar eclipses in 2014 made public

Deputy director of Shamakhy Astrophysical Observatory Khidir Mikayilov told APA that two solar eclipses and two lunar eclipses will happen next year. They will be recorded in April and October. None of these phenomena will be observed in Azerbaijan.

 

MIkayilov said the first lunar eclipse will occur on April 15, the process will last for 3 hours and 35 minutes.

 

“Lunar eclipse will start at 10:58 Baku time and end at 14:33. The eclipse will be observed in Australia, Pacific Ocean and America. The second lunar eclipse will be observed on October 8 and last for 3 hours and 29 minutes. The lunar eclipse will be observed in Asia, Australia, Pacific Ocean and America, will start at 14:15 and end at 17:34,” he said.

 

MIkayilov said the first solar eclipse next year will be recorded on April 29. It will be viewed in Australia, Indian Ocean and Antarctica.

 

“The first solar eclipse will start at 8:54 Baku time and end at 13:14. The second solar eclipse on October 24 will start at 00:40 Baku time and end at 04:52. This eclipse will be observed in North America and about 10 regions of Russia,” he said.
