The water content in the rivers of the Guba-Khachmaz region of the Greater Caucasus currently makes up 130 to 150 percent of the ten-day norm, 160 to 170 percent in the rivers of the Little Caucasus rivers, and 50 to 70 percent in the rivers of the Lankaran-Astara region.
The Hydrometeorological Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told APA that the water level in the Kur River in the Qiraqkasaman village has risen by 5cm. The current water flow in Qiraqkasaman makes up 111 percent (162 cubic meters per second) of the ten-day norm, while in 2014 this figure was 91 percent (133 cubic meters per second).
There has been no change in water level in the Ayrichay village of the Ganikh River. Water flow in Ayrichay is 63 percent of the ten-day norm, whereas in 2014 this figure was 73 percent (53 cubic meters per second).
Fall of water level was observed in the downstream of Kura River on Dec.28. The water level in Surra point of Kura River and Salyan reduced 4cm, in Banka – 6 cm. The water level of Araz River in Novruzlu point reduced 3cm.
The water level in Surra is 420cm (382cm on December 28, 2014), in Shirvan 313cm (267cm on December 28, 2014), Salyan – 290cm (260cm on December 28, 2014), Banka – 208cm (205cm on December 28, 2014) and Novruzlu point of Araz River – 155 cm (149cm on December 28, 2014).
