Baku Declaration adopted as a conclusion of 4th Islamic Conference of Ministers in charge of Childhood

Baku. Konul Kamilgizi – APA. The 4th Islamic Conference of Ministers in charge of Childhood “Children and the Challenges of Urbanization in the Islamic World” in Baku has ended. APA reports that as a conclusion of the conference, Baku Declaration reflecting the solution of children affairs in Islamic countries has been adopted.

Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, the Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), said that the declaration reflected the opportunities for children to get direct access to education and medical services and protection of their social rights. According to him, problems of street children in Islamic countries are being studied and the issues for preventing them were included in the declaration: “Baku Declaration also contains paragraph on the Nagorno Karabakh, the most pressing problem, and children affected by this conflict. That paragraph notes the occupation of Azerbaijan’s territories and other information about the children suffered during the conflict.”

Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Hijran Huseynova said the declaration was an obvious example of hard work and detailed discussions. Huseynova also noted it was important to put forward a proposal in order to include this declaration, which is of human importance, in the activity of the UN and the Council of Europe.

At the same time, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Hijran Huseynova and ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri thanked President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva for their support to the conference.

At the end, the participants addressed President Ilham Aliyev.
