Strasbourg. Fuad Gulubeyli - APA. “One of the priorities of Azerbaijan’s Chairmanship of the CoE Committee of Ministers is to implement the resolutions and decisions passed by international organizations”, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said in his speech at the PACE, APA’s European correspondent reports.
The Head of State said there are a number of resolutions and decisions related to Azerbaijan: “The most important ones are the resolutions of the UN Security Council on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. But in practice, none of them were implemented. Therefore, I think it is very important to develop a mechanism of implementation of the resolutions adopted at the international level. We all should develop such a mechanism. Otherwise, these resolutions will become ineffective. We recommend that the supremacy of international legal norms and principles should be ensured. This is a very important issue", the President said.
President Aliyev expressed his gratitude to PACE President Mrs Anna Brasseur for her support to Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. “Territorial integrity is considered a fundamental principle of the international law”, he said.
