The Ombudsman Office told APA that the visit aimed at meeting the detained persons and examining the detention conditions.

 

No complaint was received during the private meeting with the detained persons. The inspections found out that the medical sanitary station of the facility has been supplied modern equipments and necessary medicines and the physician is on duty there for 24 hours.

 

They also met with Parviz Hashimov, the correspondent of “Bizim Yol” newspaper and familiarized with his detention conditions.

 

Hashimov did not complain of the detention condition or nutrition. Hashimov said that he doesn’t agree with charges that he has faced and asked the Human Rights Commissioner to accelerate the investigation, allow him to meet and contact with his family, give him the necessary newspapers and to send him to Baku jail.

 

During the meeting, it was determined that the Temporary Detention Facility and jail of the National Security Ministry have been commissioned with the execution of the judgment passed by Sabayil District Court on Parviz Hashimov. The doctor of the facility said that Hashimov has no health problems. Up to now, he has held more than 20 private meetings with his lawyers.

 

Moreover, it was revealed that Hashimov has not gone on hunger-strike at the jail.

 

Following the meeting, the Human Rights Commissioner separately discussed the issues raised by Hashimov with the Minister of National Security, Head of Main Investigation Department and chief of Temporary Detention Facility and several issues have been solved positively.
