According to the report on scientific activities for 2015 of the Republican Seismic Survey Center under the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences, the analysis of variations of geomagnetic field tensions and gradient increases covered intense deformation zones in Shaki-Shamakhi and Kur-Talish prognostic polygons.
Ismayilli, Shamakhi, Shaki, Oghuz, Zagatala-Balaken and Talish are long-term intense deformation zones.
An increase is observed in environmental tension in Balaken, Zagatala, Shaki, Oghuz seismogenic zones, as well as in Zagatala, Gakh, Shaki, Oghuz, Ismayilli-Shamaki-Jangi districts. Tension partially increases in Gabala district.
The report also says that 3 gravimetric stations (Scrintex AutoGrav C G - 5) were opened to analyze gravitational variations in the Earth's crust in Azerbaijan.
