An amendment was made to the law “On Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsperson) of Azerbaijan” at plenary session of the Azerbaijani parliament on Oct.6.
According to the amendment, the National Preventive Group created by the Ombudsperson can visit detention facilities for illegal migrants, meet with migrants, become familiar with the conditions of their detention at any time, without prior notice and without any obstacles and record progress and results of the acts they undertook.
The draft law was put to a vote and adopted.
