The rules for foreigners and stateless persons obtaining a scientific degree in Azerbaijan will be changed.
In this regard, it is proposed to amend article 23.5 (doctorate) of the law on education, APA reported.
According to the proposed amendment, the admission of foreigners and stateless persons to higher educational institutions and scientific organizations for doctoral studies is done on the basis of international agreements to which the Republic of Azerbaijan is a party, as well as of the law on education and agreements between educational institutions and foreigners or stateless persons on the basis of fee.
The current version of this article reads as follows: "The admission of foreigners and stateless persons higher educational institutions and scientific organizations for doctoral studies is done on the basis of international agreements to which the Republic of Azerbaijan is a party, as well as agreements between educational institutions and foreigners or stateless persons on the basis of fee ".
The draft amendment will be submitted for discussion at the parliament’s meeting on September 18.
