The Secretariat said that according to the methodology, medicine prices are being regulated basing on the basic prices. “Prices of medicines differing for active ingredients, dosages, commercial packaging and number of tablets in the package at least in 10 countries are being compared. As this process requires time and responsibility, it will be phased out and as the prices are approved, the relevant decision of the Secretariat of Tariff (price) Council will be posted on our official website,” he said.
On July 30, the regular meeting of the Tariff (Price) Council approved the cost of more than 250 vital and most demanded medicines for 25 active substances.
According to the decision, in order to avoid violations of the competitive environment, the prices of these drugs take effect since September 15, 2015. From this date can not be carried implementation of unapproved drugs for 25 active substances specified in the Council decision. The deadline for submission of documents (declarations) for the approval of the price of other drugs relating to these active substances in Annex, determined before the 10th August 2015.
In comparison with current prices, the prices of 20 percent approved drugs reduced more than 3 times, price of more than 40 percent of medicines reduced more than 2 times, in general, prices of 90 percent approved drugs reduced.
