Seal carcasses have been discovered on the coast of the Caspian Sea in the Khachmaz district, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told APA.
According to the Ministry, the seal carcasses were found during monitoring activities carried out by employees of the State Ecological Security Service on the coast of the Caspian Sea near Nabran settlement in the Khachmaz district.
Arzu Babayeva, Deputy Head of the Biodiversity Conservation Service, stated that samples from the carcasses have been taken by specialists from the Biodiversity Conservation Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Agricultural Services Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan in order to determine the cause of death of the seals.
The official noted that the public will be informed about the results of the analysis.
