On October 23, the foreign cargo ship "KHORYV," carrying Azerbaijani citizens on board, was attacked by a drone 13 nautical miles from Romania's Port of Constanța, APA reports.
Ayxan Hajizada, Head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said this while commenting on the attack on a ship carrying Azerbaijani citizens near the Romanian coast.
"According to the information we have received, all three of our citizens among the 13 crew members have been rescued. One of them, Rufan Khalig oghlu Ahmadov, born in 1992, who sustained minor injuries, underwent a medical examination and was accommodated in a hotel," the MFA official said.
According to him, coordination efforts are underway with Azerbaijan's Embassy in Romania and the relevant competent authorities regarding the matter. Necessary measures are being taken to provide consular support to Azerbaijani citizens.
"Once again, we call on Azerbaijani citizens to refrain from traveling to regions where military operations are taking place and where the security situation is unstable, as well as from working in these areas and on vehicles operating along risky routes, particularly on ships in the waters of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov," Ayxan Hajizada noted.
