United States President Donald Trump on Friday again floated the idea of renaming the Strait of Hormuz the "Trump Strait," arguing that the country already has a lake and a gulf named after it and should also have a strait and an ocean, APA reports.
"There are only two oceans that qualify for the change. One is the Pacific Ocean, and one is the Atlantic Ocean," Trump told his supporters at the Florida rally, noting that he chose the Atlantic Ocean as it is "closer to home." Trump added that he had sent a note to Google CEO Sundar Pichai requesting that the Atlantic Ocean be renamed the American Ocean and the Strait of Hormuz also be given a new name.
However, he revealed that Google CEO declined to change the name of the ocean. "He put his foot down," Trump said jokingly. The US president clarified that the proposed name changes were intended as a joke.
