Although Türkiye provides support to Saudi Arabia, it does not plan to engage in a direct military confrontation with Houthi forces in Yemen, said Turkish Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, APA's Türkiye bureau reports citing Akşam newspaper.
The Minister noted that the primary objective of the support provided to Saudi Arabia is to implement a policy of deterrence.
“The purpose of the support for Saudi Arabia is deterrence. There will be no engagement in clashes with the Houthis,” Yaşar Güler emphasized.
Yaşar Güler stated that the goal of any potential military support for Saudi Arabia is to strengthen deterrence.
He noted that Türkiye intends to provide support to Saudi Arabia—similar to the support provided to Qatar—but there are no plans to engage in any clashes with the Houthis. The priority is to prevent new tensions in the region and to contribute to security and stability.
