On December 29, a farewell ceremony was held at Heydar Aliyev International Airport for the crew members who tragically lost their lives in the crash of the Embraer 190 passenger plane operating the Baku-Grozny route.
The ceremony was attended by their family members, officials, and public figures.
The ceremony began with the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Then, the memory of those who perished in the plane crash was honored with a one-minute silence.
Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, said that the commission established will investigate the causes of the crash and provide information to the public.
AZAL Vice President Ilham Amirov stated that the aircraft was subjected to three external influences, which led to the crash.
The three crew members who died — Captain Igor Kshnyakin, Pilot Alexander Kalyaninov, and Flight Attendant Hokuma Aliyeva — will be laid to rest today at the II Alley of Honor.
Note that on December 25, the “Embraer-190” aircraft of “Azerbaijan Airlines” (J2-8243) performing the Baku-Grozny flight crashed near Aktau city. As a result of the incident, 38 people lost their lives, and 29 were injured.
