“It is a peaceful protest. We only demand the protection of the environment. We want to draw the attention of Andrey Volkov, commander of the Russian peacekeepers, to this injustice to be stopped. We demand stoppage of environmental terror,” said environmental activist Zamina Zamanova, a participant in the protest against the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in the Azerbaijani territories under the temporary control of Russian peacekeepers held in Shusha, to APA’s correspondent.
She urged to protect nature: “Mines are illegally exploited. Besides the illegal exploitation, water sources, environment, air, and soil are polluted as well. Our only demand is to stop illegal activity and polluting the environment”.
